TAKE CARE

In most parts of the civilized world these happy days, the nearer you are to a city the greater the possibility to be accosted. Clarens is no exception.

THE SCILLA WALK

Halfway up the mountain slopes, you’ll notice several large boulders which broke off from above. Don’t worry, no falling rocks warning this! Anyway, the rock is the world-renowned Clarens Formation Sandstone. As a result of its porous structure, it successfully retains water.

THE BIRDER WALK

The Birder’s Route is an easy going route and is great for the whole family, both young and old.

FOOTHILL ADVENTURER

An easy-going hiking route for those who wish to venture a little further from the village. Try a little plant identification! You will pass through both Highveld Grassland and mountain catchment areas. It should take you up to four hours depending on your pace. The route includes the Maluti ViewScilla WalkLeucosideaPorcupine and the Kloof Dam trails.

EAGLE EYE ROUTE

Are you fit, adventurous and ready for an eagle-eye view of Clarens and surrounds? This mountainous route offers unparalleled views, excellent photography opportunities and makes for superb hiking. You will come across interesting geological features.  You will intersect with the Titanic Trail, Sky-Contour, Kloof Mountainand ends in Leibrandt Kloof.
